PROJECT 4 - PORSCHE 964RS WIDEBODY REPLICA

BODY SHELL

·        Based on a 964 Carrera 4 widebody.  Car completely stripped, engine/gearbox removed, windows taken out and paint removed back to bare metal.

·        Heigo rear half roll cage bolted in.

·        Electric sun roof retained.

·        Weld in gear change mounting system in gearbox tunnel.

PANELS

All standard 964C4 panels remain except for: -

·        Rear 964RS centre bumper fitted.

·        964RS cup mirrors fitted with electrical adjustment, as per owners’ specification - retained.

·        Fog lights removed in front bumper and replaced by plastic moulded air vents - retained.

·        Carrera RS badge on the rear.

·        Rear spoiler 3.8RS replica fitted.

PAINTING

All panels, roll cage and body shell painted to colour.

LIGHTING

·        964 clear front light kit and clear side repeators to be fitted.

·        New rear lights and centre reflector to be fitted.

INTERIOR

·        Alcantara head lining and dash cover to be fitted, interior lights to be retained.

·        Lightweight 964RS door panels with blue or red door pull straps.  Original electric window switches and mechanism remain.

·        All interior carpeting, rear seats and rear quarter panels removed and replaced with lightweight carpeting as per 964RS specification.

·        Original seats removed and replaced with Recaro Profi-SPG seats.  Seat adjustment rails fore and aft mechanism retained.

·        Centre console retained but leather dyed black.

·        Alcantara Momo steering wheel fitted instead of standard item (dished Momo 08).

·        3 inch wide 4 point safety belt harness installed, linking onto roll cage at rear - Schroth.

·        Alloy pedal set with drivers’ footrest.

·        New overmats.

·        New speedometer.

·        Handbrake stainless steel.

·        Gearknob black leather.

BRAKES

·        965 Turbo braking system fitted; front and rear.

·        Red calipers with Porsche logo in white.

·        Crossdrilled discs fitted front and rear; standard 993 Turbo at the front, custom ordered 964RS at the rear.

·        Castrol high temperature braking fluid.

·        Porterfield pads.

·        Stainless steel braided brake hoses.

SUSPENSION

Suspension completely changed to RS specification, i.e.: -

FRONT

·        C4 hubs rebuilt to C2 spec.

·        Shock absorbers Bilstein Cup items valved to Jasmine specification.

·        964RS springs and top mounts fitted.

·        Front 964RS anti roll bar and links fitted.

·        Strut brace in luggage compartment carbon fibre.

·        New bottom wishbones and ball joints.

REAR

·        Shock absorbers Bilstein to 964RS specification.

·        964RS springs and top mounts fitted.

·        Rear 964RS anti roll bar and links fitted.

ENGINE

·        Completely stripped.

·        Crankshaft and rods balanced and polished.

·        Bottom end reassembled with new shells and rings.

·        Heads stripped, cleaned, polished, gas flowed.  New valve guides, chains and head studs.

·        RS flywheel and clutch assembly fitted.

·        Engine reinstalled.

·        New filters and plugs and hoses.

·        Engine remapped to produce 285 BHP.

·        Centre exhaust box replaced by straight through system.

GEARBOX

·        C2 gearbox fitted (customer supplied gearbox).

·        All C4 gear linkages, rods, guide tubes etc. changed to C2 versions.
